Some movies leave an everlasting impression on our minds with their scenic images of aquamarine seas, lush green forests, myriad coloured costumes or enchanting hues of a periodic era. These colour effects that enhance the entire look of film are a result of DI (Digital Intermediate).

The main job of a colourist is to enhance and balance a story’s content by maintaining its consistency. Each film is different and each scene is also different.

The DI grading suites at Prime Focus include both Baselight and Lustre non-linear grading systems, along with the digital projector.
Through our Global Digital Pipeline, the international Prime Focus facilities work collaboratively to ensure that clients have access to the world’s best kit and colourists at three main locations around the globe - London, LA and Mumbai. The integrated Prime Focus DI facilities in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai work closely with the worldwide Prime Focus VFX studios to ensure seamless delivery of all post production requirements.

A boy who came to Mumbai with starry eyes and the dreams of making it big, SManoj was initially hit by a number of setbacks.

Just when he was about to give up hope, Prime Focus noticed the spark in him and took him under its wings.
Thus, at the ripe young age of 16, SManoj began his journey as a colourist at Prime Focus, which was a little more than a few people and a small business back then.

Prime Focus has come a long way since. And so has SManoj…
From having been India's youngest colourist to having worked on some of the best movies the country has produced.
From being the nervous kid who was too scared to talk with clients to having worked with every major DoP in the country.
From being a stranger to the field to having mentored most of the Indian colourists.
From not knowing what a showreel is to never having needed one…

A Journey in Progress - Radhika Chinai

Be it as a business owner or as Vice President - Media Processing Services, entrepreneurship has been the constant theme of Radhika Chinai’s story.

Originally from California, she dived into the world of entrepreneurship armed with degrees from Oxford and the University of Pennsylvania, setting up her own company called Media Soft with success.

To her surprise, when she moved to Prime Focus, Radhika realised that there was as much opportunity to be a leader here as there had been in her own business. Extremely self motivated and inclined towards taking the initiative, Radhika soon became the soul of Media Processing Services at Prime Focus.

She can always be found in the field, leading her team from the front. By her own admission, she is most comfortable when she is neck deep on a project. Something that comes in very handy when dealing with both local and international markets, often at the same time!

Be it raising your own team or setting higher goals each time, it is these fiercely independent and highly competent professionals like Radhika who have taken Prime Focus to the heights it has reached today.

The Creation of Art

No two days are the same here at Prime Focus’ commercials division in Mumbai. As advertising is a particularly dynamic industry, there is a continuous amount of work flowing through, some of which isn’t expected/accounted for. But with that there’s a great amount of energy and buzz, with people truly dedicated to their work.

Prime Focus has an incredibly rich and unique history. It’s a well established post production house that continues to grow and evolve with each passing day.

Prime Focus Commercials in Mumbai is setting a new standard in providing visual entertainment services to the region’s advertising industry. From pre- to post-production and beyond, the fully HD facility in Khar offers the most creative artists, the most up-to-date technology and the most advanced workflows, to ensure that the creative vision behind the campaign is successfully delivered for TV, cinema, web and mobile.
