London, April 2012 – This month marks 25 years since Ronnie Newman joined our Broadcast team. He started out at what was 'blue', as a fresh-faced school leaver and has since become one of Soho's most respected and sought-after Online Editors.
Head of Editing Clive Mattock describes Ronnie as, "A legend of online editing". He said "Ronnie's been there, seen it, done it, worked on just about every piece of kit ever invented, broken it, fixed it again, and done more 24 hour sessions than anyone could have thought humanly possible. More than anything, it's been an absolute pleasure to have Ronnie around, so a big thanks Ron and here's to another 25 years..."
Nicola Whitehead, Head of Production added, "Ronnie is an institution. His 25 years experience means that there isn't a job in the world complex or difficult enough to faze him. He's the safest hands in the business and works like lightening. Add to all of these assets that he also brings us chocolates every Thursday and you have one of the best Editors I have ever had the privilege to work with!"
Broadcast MD, Rowan Bray said "Ronnie's achievement is unique in this transient industry. He has worked his magic with so many clients over the years, delivering everything they need and more without any fuss. His ability to adapt to each technical change and workflow challenge makes him a real asset. Congratulations Ronnie!"
Ronnie's credits include 'America The Story of Us', '9/11 State of Emergency', 'Stephen Hawking's Universe', 'The American Future: A History' and 'Bad Girls'.
