 A vacancy has arisen in the Broadcast despatch unit.

The job role includes the following:

  • Dispatching various material to destinations locally, nationally & internationally.
  • Organising large and small tape projects in a wide range of various formats.
  • Co-ordinate despatch services through appropriate means ranging from efficient use of runners to communicating with courier services.
  • Maintain history logs of despatches & Track movements in real time during transition through to post delivery.
  • Supporting the goods in area of 2 Bourchier Street / Managing the despatch desk & surrounding area – distributing incoming goods appropriately & efficiently.
  • Assisting with enquiries & requests from clientele, in house producers and tape operators.
  • Representing the library and the companies tape management strategies to our clientele.

The Broadcast Library & Dispatch has proved to be a platform for candidates to make clear progress in their career. The library requires of, and educates its employees in skills that provide a superb base for further employment both within the company and beyond, as can be seen from previous employees. Therefore the aptitudes we are looking for in future librarians is also of a high level and require the following skills:

The successful candidate will be meticulously organised and tidy, able to competently manage two or three tasks at a time with a calm head.

Must have a keen eye for detail, able to spot one tape among hundreds and the smallest of errors.

Must be patient and extremely accurate, literate and numerate; every last detail is an essential piece of information.

The candidate must be keen to learn and grow in the position over a period of time, and to be part of a team that relies and trusts in its own members to get each job done accurately and efficiently.

The candidate must be able to confidently deal face to face with staff and clients.

Knowledge and experience of Xytech would be advantageous, as well as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must be willing to learn and work in an extremely fast paced and often highly pressured environment.
