Prime Focus is recruiting for a Lead 3D artist to join its long-form broadcast VFX department.
The position is hands-on, in addition to overseeing teams of in-house and freelance artists within the CG department.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working on all aspects of the 3D pipeline from start to completion, including previz, camera tracking, modelling, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting and rendering.
Requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of Maya and/or XSI
• At least 3 years experience in a long-form TV and/or film environment at a lead/supervisory level
• Production experience rendering with a Mental Ray pipeline
• Experience rendering through a render management tool, eg. Deadline
• Proven ability to lead a team of artists
• Possess excellent technical and artistic communication skills as well as an excellent eye for detail
• Must be a creative problem solver driven by the desire to deliver innovative, high quality work
• Working knowledge of Maya Unlimited’s fx plug-ins (fluids, fur, dynamics, cloth etc), and/or XSI’s ICE a plus
• Working knowledge of Z Brush, Realflow, Photoshop, 3DsMax a plus
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of visual effects pipelines, production and implementation
• Familiar with Fusion / Nuke compositing techniques
• Strong design, composition and colour skills a plus
