Prime Focus is proud to have completed full post production on 'From the Sea to the Land Beyond.' The film was exclusively premièred at the 2012 Prime Focus sponsored, Sheffield Doc/Fest. 'From the Sea to the Land Beyond' which airs at 9pm, Sunday 18th November on BBC Four, is a unique collaboration between award-winning filmmaker Penny Woolcock and 'British Sea Power'; a Brighton-based band renowned for their exquisite live performances, who composed and performed the film’s score.
The film is constructed from over 100 years worth of BFI Archive Footage, exploring the role the coast plays in our lives; evoking a reflection of people’s experiences and thoughts on our very own British coast, from sunny seaside getaways to the remote Scottish Isles.
Premièred at this year's Prime Focus sponsored Sheffield Doc/Fest which ran from June 13th – 17th. 'British Sea Power' performed the live score, which was then re-mixed by Prime Focus Dubbing Mixer Ian Chattam for broadcast.
'From the Sea to the Land Beyond' was onlined by Clive Mattock and Rashid Airori provided Tracklay. Louisa Sutherland-Smith was Post Producer for this project together with Sara Hill acting as Post Production Supervisor as well as representing Prime Focus at the Sheffield Doc/Fest 2012.
